GALILEO, una vera e propria scultura estratta dal puro ottone, totalmente priva di saldature L'ancia è libera di vibrare in tutta la lunghezza delle fibre della cui disposizione GALILEO tiene conto: nasce infatti da una barra di ottone speciale, selezionato dalla CG Mouthpiece per le sue caratteristiche acustiche eccezionali, e lavorato seguendo le venature del metallo. Metodo che la CG Mouthpiece Italy adotta anche per la lavorazione delle sue pregiate imboccature. Le sue geometrie sono accuratamente studiate per rispondere in modo omogeneo alle vibrazioni dell'ancia e conseguentemente dell'imboccatura. Permette una pressione calibrata della placchetta sull'ancia, pressione che è regolata da una solida vite, sempre in ottone massiccio. La robusta vite è fissata alla placchetta a pressione, senza l'ausilio di viti. La placchetta, anch'essa ricavata da un pezzo pieno di ottone, è snodabile per potersi adattare al non sempre simmetrico disegno del dorso dell'ancia, permettendo così un saldo appoggio dei suoi binari anch'essi disposti nel senso della fibra lignea. GALILEO is the ultimate ligature for mouthpieces. It is made in Italy as usual at CG Mouthpiece Italy.

GALILEO ligature ensures an extremely homogeneous feeling while playing along the whole range of the horn. It is a real sculpture carved from solid rod of a pure brass alloy (lead free brass without any welding points). Selected material by GC Mouthpiece Italy for its exceptional acoustics attributes, worked following the grain of the metal (method already used by CG Mouthpiece Italy for its fine metal mouthpieces). The upper side of the ligature perfectly wraps the mouthpiece guaranteeing a solid support, then, the design proceeds drawing a light arc shape: like a little leaf spring, GALILEO allows a calibrated pressure of the plate on the reed.

The pressure amount is regulated by a solid brass screw.

The brass screw is fixed by pressure to the plate, without the aid of additional screws or welding points.

The plate, which is also made from a solid brass, is able to follow the shape of the back of the reed, which is not always symmetrical, allowing a solid support of its rails also oriented in the direction of the wood’s grain. The plate rails are tailored to fit the curvature of the reed and do not leave marks on it.

GALILEO revolutionized the meaning of "ligature" because it is not designed to "bind", but to ensure “freedom” to the reed.The overall effect will be the supreme timbre homogeneity, a fast and accurate response of the reed, with the feeling of a single vibrating body made of mouthpiece and reed.

It is an evolution of the Galileo brass of which maintains the homogeneity of timbre, while offering a greater freedom to the reed. The construction features of the Galileo AL are the same as Galileo Brass: his body is a real sculpture carved from solid rod of a special aluminum alloy used in the aerospace industry. Selected material by GC Mouthpiece for its strength, flexibility and lightness and not least for its exceptional acoustics attributes, worked following the grain of the metal. The upper side of the ligature perfectly wraps the mouthpiece guaranteeing a solid support, then, the design proceeds drawing a light arc shape: like a little leaf spring, GALILEO AL allows a calibrated pressure of the plate on the reed. The pressure amount is regulated by a solid brass screw. The brass screw is fixed by pressure to the plate, without the aid of additional screws or welding points. Carefully handfinished, GALILEO AL ligature is available in different finishes: Vintage AL (Anodized aluminum body, 24k gold plated screw and pressure plate available only for size II) and AL (natural aluminum color body, 24k gold plated screw and pressure plate available for size IV & VI).
